bowtie pattern

Tailored to Beginners

Our patterns are specifically written for beginners with limited to no sewing experience.  Commercial patterns assume you have some experience, and know how to read patterns -- which isn't always intuitive, and they assume you will do certain things (like pressing your seams, stay stitching, and finishing your seams) without even mentioning these things. Our patterns assume no previous sewing knowledge and contain an instruction booklet with detailed instructions and step-by-step photos to guide you along. If you're a more experienced sewer, great! you'll cruise right through our patterns and have a fun creation at the end.

Our Patterns are Digital

All of our patterns are digital downloads and will be available to you immediately upon purchase. They are PDF files that you print using your home printer on 8.5" x 11" or A4 paper. Follow the instructions in the booklet, making sure the test square on your print-out measures the right distance, and that ensures your pattern is scaled to the right size!

If your sewing pattern is bigger than 1 sheet of paper, it'll span across multiple page with indicators for you to line up each page next to one other.  After aligning your pages, tape them together, then cut out your pattern!

Digital patterns are fantastic because you'll always have a fresh pattern, anytime you want to make a new project, reprinting them as often as you like.

Thoroughly Tested

To make sure our patterns are easy to use, we user test them extensively before publishing them. We ask sewers of all levels to make test patterns, send us photos, and complete questionnaires to give detailed feedback on how to make the pattern better.  All feedback is listened to and addressed.

If you're interested in testing our patterns, we announce when testing is available through our newsletter.

Customer Reviews

"Beyond my expectations - fantastic step by step instructions and the pattern. I've been making a much simpler bowtie for friends and wanted to "kick it up a notch." This is a much nicer bowtie pattern, and the step by step instructions are just right for a person fairly new to sewing like me."
